Today will be another winter-like day with lots of clouds, areas of rain & snow, and temperatures stuck in the 30s to around 40°. Any snow accumulation will be light, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few areas with an inch or two. The sun comes back out tomorrow and we warm up nicely.

Seven Lady Comanche seniors and one Lady Bulldog have been honored with Academic All-State selections for the 2012-13 basketball season.
April 1st
Georgia Ellen Cheatwood, 85, went to be with her Lord on March 31, 2013 in Amarillo, TX.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on April 4, 2013 at Riverview Baptist Church with Jimmy Gillmore, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger, TX.

Further details have been released pertaining to a house fire that occurred Sunday afternoon in Fritch.
The house, which was located at 8507 Highway 136 just outside of Fritch, was occupied by Jessica LeRaye Koenig, 39, and Shawn Dillon, 34. It was owned by Vi Krapp, who was out of town at the time of the fire, according to Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards.
Wendell McWilliams, Al Vasquez, and loader Wayne Hurst work with some of the loads of trash that have been brought to the Borger Transfer Station during Trash Bash week, which started today. The event will go through this Saturday. The City of Borger is sponsoring a free week for county residents to bring their trash to the transfer station.

Tomorrow is going to have the look and feel of winter with lots of clouds, a breezy northeast wind (at 15 to 25 mph), and some scattered showers. Highs will only be in the middle 40s and wind chill values in the 20s & 30s! Keep an umbrella and heavier coat handy today!

Happy Good Friday! We will have a chance for a few showers and storms around later Friday afternoon and night, but they will be hit-n-miss at best. Otherwise, it will be a mostly cloudy and mild day Friday with highs in the lower 70s. The wind will shift from the northwest to the southeast and blow around 5 to 15 mph.

[Amarillo, TX]- The Amarillo Sox Baseball Club announced that an agreement has been signed with ex-big leaguer Jason Johnson.
Johnson made his MLB debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 27, 1997. Johnson during his career has pitched for 8 different major league teams. Johnson’s career stats are 56 wins, 100 losses, a 4.99 career era with 810 strikeouts.
Sox manager Bobby Brown says “Jason will give us a solid #1 starting pitcher and also an excellent teammate in the clubhouse”.
Frank Phillips College will be hosting a health fair and blood drive on Friday April 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held at the Center for Access and Innovation Building Room 102 at 901 Opal Street.
Eligible donors present will receive a free t-shirt and CMBC water bottle. They will also be entered to win 2 tickets (valued at $200 each) to the Jason Aldean concert on May 4 in Lubbock along with a $100 Visa gift card for travel expenses! Head men's basketball coach Chris Hackett is happy to announce the dates for this year's basketball camp. It will be held June 3-6, 2013 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the BCAC in Borger.
The camp is for boys ages 7-17 and will teach fundamentals, divide into leagues, hold competitions, and give out prizes and certificates.
Early drop-off will be available along with an early enrollment discount. Lunch and concessions will be provided at the camp each day.
