Sanford community members announced earlier this week they will once again be hosting an all-day July 4th event in the community center. The Independence Day activities will run through midnight.
Services for Linda Jane Moore, of Borger, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Bunavista Baptist Church in Borger (Bunavista), TX, under direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger and Rev. James Greer, with special music by Andy Dietz. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bunavista Baptist Church Burial will take place prior to the funeral services in a private family graveside service at Westlawn Memorial Park. She laid in state 5-8 p.m. Saturday evening and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The family received friends at 111 Lakeview in Borger.
Josey Inselman is about to join the ranks of Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. Of course, the 7-year-old daughter of West Texas High School graduate Ashley (Phillips) Inselman would probably rather not.
In an effort to help second grader battle a serious form of cancer, residents of her hometown in Perkins, Oklahoma, have decided to stage a golf tournament and are reaching out to Hutchinson County residents who would like to get in a few strokes for a good cause. The tournament will be held on July 12 at the Cimarron Trails Golf Course in Perkins.

Hutchinson County’s annual effort to help raise funds for the nation’s fight against cancer officially gets under way this evening in Huber Park when the 2014 Relay For Life event kiocks off. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and run through 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The Relay for Life Survivor’s Dinner held its annual banquet for cancer survivors on Tuesday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Borger Union hall. This year’s dinner’s theme was ”Walk of Stars” a theme that treated cancer survivors as if they were the stars of Hollywood. Over 150 people attended the dinner in celebration of life and those fighting cancerous diseases.
