Sarah Beth Brewer leads students in several patriotic songs to honor the Veterans who attended the Veterans Assembly this morning.
The Borger Bulldog football team will take on the Andrews Mustangs in the Bi-District round of the 2014 playoffs. The game will be at Plains Capital Park (Lowery Field) on Friday at 4:00 pm. If you want to buy tickets early, they are available in the Business Office at the Administration building. Tickets can be purchased from 7:45 to 4:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and will be available until 10:00 on Friday morning. Cost of the tickets are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Tickets at the game on Friday will be the same price.
The Frank Phillips women's basketball team improved to 3-0 with their 72-61 defest of Western Oklahoma State in Garden City, Kansas on Friday afternoon.
The Borger Bulldogs squeaked into the playoffs even though they lost their game Friday night to Seminole. See results in weekend sports section.
Georgia Hughes works at Golden Plains Community Hospital and says she enjoys the food served at the cafe. Several other diners were very enthusiastic about the quality of the food, also. Area residents are welcome to come to the cafe for lunch and/or breakfast.
Borger's Gateway School will have it's "Watch Dogs", Dads of Great Students" helping out at the school this year. Volunteers are needed. Contact the school if you could help out to keep the kids safe at school.
The West Texas Comanches host the Stratford Elks on Friday night to finish up their season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Sanford-Fritch Eagles will finish up their season in Lubbock this Friday when they play Roosevelt. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Lubbock.

The Lady Eagles got the win against Friona Tuesday night. Sanford-Fritch won in five games 27-25, 17-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-12.
