Head men's basketball coach Chris Hackett is happy to announce that his basketball camp is coming up soon and it is not too late to register! It will be held June 3-6, 2013 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the BCAC in Borger.
The camp is for boys ages 7-17 and will teach fundamentals, divide into leagues, hold competitions, and give out prizes and certificates.
Early drop-off will be available. Lunch and concessions will be provided at the camp each day for the campers.

Does Borger have any public storm shelters? Due to the high standards that FEMA has for public storm shelters, Borger does not have any FEMA approved shelters. However there are no rules against people taking friends and neighbors into their own storm cellers or churches opening up facilities for people to take cover. You will find the FEMA standards in Fridays paper.
Borger senior Haley Armstrong will be signing on to play volleyball with the University of Texas at Dallas in 2013. According to Haley's mother, she made the commitment several months ago, but her official signing will be held at the Amarillo College gym on Thursday at 4:30.

[Amarillo, TX May 21]: The Amarillo Venom are proud to announce that proceeds of each ticket sold on May 22 will go to the American Red Cross in relief of the Moore, Okla. Tornadoes. We will offer our Venom fans $10 tickets with a $1 from each ticket going to the American Red Cross.
â€śThe tornado outbreak in Oklahoma on Monday was tragic and changed the lives of not only citizens of Oklahoma but across the United States,â€ť Amarillo Venom owner Stephanie Tucker said. â€śHopefully with the money we can raise from the ticket sales we can help restore some of what the families in Oklahoma lost.â€ť

The Cast and Crew of TEXAS Musical is presenting a special Memorial Day Tribute at the Pioneer Amphitheatre in Palo Duro Canyon.
The evening ceremony will start at 9pm, Monday May 27th. The State Park will extend its hours of operation and normal park entry fees apply. The performance is free of charge and is a gift to the community from TEXAS, Wells Fargo, KGNC AM & FM and The Eagle.
The Carnival is in town, the Pride of Texas carnival which is the premier carnival traveling the Texas Panhandle will open on Wednesday, May 22nd and run through Sunday May 26th.
