2-20-13 William Denton Isom was transported from Harris County to the Hutchinson County Jail on warrant #38804 for the offense of probation violation – DWI.

Borger---Brad Lee Nivens, 30, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Grace Church under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

NEWS: Teams being formed for Relay For Life

UPDATE: The Relay For Life Team meeting will be held March 4, not Feb. 4.

Teams are now being formed for the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Relay For Life of Hutchinson County event, set for June 7 and 8 at Huber Park in Borger. A team organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4 in the Council Chambers at Borger City Hall. The 2013 theme for the annual event is “Kickin’ it to Cancer”.

Borger handles West Texas

February 20, 2013

Borger cruised to a 23-5 victory over West Texas High on Tuesday, scoring 17 runs in the second inning.
Tootie Karins had two triples and three RBIs in the inning. Maegan Stone and Kyla Baker each had three RBIs for Borger in the win.
For WT, Rexanna Kelly and Kenzie Tucker had two RBIs a piece. Kelly had a double, and Tucker a triple for the Lady Comanches.

BISD board calls election

February 19, 2013

The Borger ISD board of trustees has called its election set for this May.
Those up for election this year are David Brandon, Dr. Kent Gray, and Bill Myers. Each term is three years in length. The deadline to register for a place on the ballot is March 1. To get registered or find out more information, call the BISD business office at 273-1001.
