Julius “Haskel” Lawrence, 82, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013.
Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Julius was born May 9, 1931 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Julius Harrison and Lillie Mae Lawrence. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Julius worked for American Wholesale Hardware. He was always ready to tell a joke or make someone laugh. He will truly be missed.

Ruby Mae Jewell

Ruby Mae Jewell, 61, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013.

Ruby was born May 17, 1952 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Cecil and Josephine Eye.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ruth Clark and Martha Bowling.

Geraldine "Jerrie" Brown

Geraldine “Jerrie” Brown, 72, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013.

Graveside service will be 11 am Monday, October 7, 2013 under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Geraldine was born April 21, 1941 in Haworth, Oklahoma to Jim and Geneva Young. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her heart was full of love for her precious dogs, she loved all animals and did her best to rescue any stray that she could get in her car.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Brown; sisters, Clemmie Baxter, Sylvie Ann Lamey; and brother, James Young.

Charles Ford Gonser

Charles Ford Gonser, 87, Borger, passed away on September 25, 2013.
Charles was born on October 18, 1925 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Martin and Vera (Ford) Gonser.
On October 17, 1948 Charles married Eleanor Sievering in Ottawa, Kansas. He was a graduate of Ottawa High School and a 1957 graduate of Ottawa University.
They moved to Texas in 1947, where he worked as a Chemist for Phillips 66 Copolymer, retiring after 25 years of service. Charles was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Steven Gonser.

Betty Jane Snapp, 82, went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on September 30, 2013. She was a resident at the Paonia Care Center where she passed away of natural causes.

Bells Will Ring in Borger

For the third year, the entire country is invited to come together as one community to honor the memory of those firefighters who died in the line of duty and reassure their loved ones that their firefighters will not be forgotten.
The Hutchinson County Volunteer Fire Department and other local fire departments will join together at 6:30pm on Saturday, October 5th, at the Huber Park Veterans Memorial Wall for this moment of remembrance.

Steve Huffman of Doolittle, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the age of 42 as a result of an automobile accident near Jerome, MO.
Steve was born December 13, 1970 in Creve Coeur, Missouri to Mary Jane (Stevenson) McDougle and the late Clarence E. Huffman.

Donald Edward “Don” Hill, 82 of Fritch
died Saturday September 28th in Fritch. Memorial services
will be 11:00 am Friday October4th at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Borger with Rev. Dr. Tom Lapacka, pastor officiating.
Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell
Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Don was born December 5, 1930 in Reydon, Oklahoma to
Herbert and Lilly Hammon Hill. He married Ruby Thiems
December 30, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He worked as
an operator and later as an instrument man for Phillips Petroleum.
He moved to Fritch in 1982 from Phillips. He enjoyed
