Brenda Kay (Pol) Gooden, 56 years young, lifelong resident of Borger Texas.
Born Dec 3, 1956 in Lubbock, Tx. Died Oct 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Bernice Wheeler, â€śadoptedâ€ť mother and brother Miss Lee and Bubba Jones
Pol worked in the home health field and housekeeping.
Brenda had a loving heart and friends from all walks of life. She was fun loving and enjoyed life to the fullest, she was a wonderful cook. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her cats.
Justin Lynwood Faulkner, 29, of Jacksonville, NC, died Monday, October 14, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Justin was born May 7, 1984, in Amarillo, to Stephen and Kathryn Faulkner. He graduated from Guymon High School in May 2002 and attended Southwest Kansas Technical School in Liberal, Kansas, graduating from the Welding Program in May 2003.
RONALD E. PEARSON
Memorial services for Ronald Edward Pearson, 59, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Abilene and Borger, will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in Temple, Texas with the Rev. Mitch Tollett officiating.
Mr. Pearson died Monday, October 14, 2013, in Port Aransas, Texas.
He was born April 18, 1954, in Borger, Texas, to Thomas Edward Pearson and Maxine McDowell Pearson (now Maxine Parkhurst). He married Mary Black on April 20, 1991. Pearson and his wife established the law firm of Pearson & Pearson.
Randall Duane (Randy) Gressett, 58, of Amarillo Texas, passed away on October 12, 2013. He was born in Childress, Texas on July 17, 1955. A memorial service will be held in celebration on Randyâ€™s life in Childress, TX at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 15 at 2:00 pm â€“bright colors will be worn to celebrate Randyâ€™s joy for life.
After graduating high school Randy pursued various careers including working as a paramedic for Rural Metro Ambulance Service, a machinist with JM Huber, and an operator for Phillipâ€™s Petroleum Company, all in Borger, Texas.
Burch L. Ingram, 77, of Fritch went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. , Monday, October 14, at Grace Church in Borger, with Pastor Marshall Ford officiating. Arrangements are with Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Borger Rotary Club and Walmart gave away the first six week bikes out to 2 third graders and 3 fourth graders for perfect attendance.
Esther Leila Brooks went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. Esther was born on January 29, 1926 in New Berlin, New York to Harrison J. and Leila M. Burdick Camp. In July of 1957, she married Thomas T. Brooks of Borger, Texas. Once married, they lived in Borger where Esther taught elementary school at Crockett Elementary and Borger Middle School, retiring in 1991. Tom and Esther were long-time members of First Baptist Church of Borger where she faithfully served as church organist for 32 years.
Carlotta Walls LaNier, one of nine African-American students to enroll in Little Rock Arkansasâ€™ Central High School in 1957 was at Frank Phillips College last night to sign books for students.
Frank Phillips students are reading LaNierâ€™s book A Mighty Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School.
Thanks to Don Johnson and the public the wanted man has been caught, but not all of the equipment has been recovered.
