Six of the Actors from the Musical "Texas" were in an automobile accident on Monday evening. The victims killed in the wreck were identified by the DPS as Clinton Diaz of Amarillo; Andrew Duncan of Wichita Falls; Amanda Starz of Timonium, Md.; Julian Arredondo of Haltom; and Eric Harrison of Fort Worth. Injured in the accident was Timothy Johnson of Portland, Ore., and the truck driver, Theron Arthur McSay of Fort Collins, Colo. the cast members were driving back from the annual end-of-summer cast party south of Dumas. Alcohol may have been a factor, according to the DPS statement.
Ben Setliff, 94, of Blue Ridge, Tx and formerly of Amarillo and Borger passed from time to Eternity early Tuesday morning, August 13, 2013 at home in Blue Ridge.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors, 3605 S.W. 3rd Street, Plainview, TX with longtime family friend Warlick Thomas presiding. Interment will immediately follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Visitation is Thursday, August 15, 2013, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm also at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
Darrell J. Scott, 89 of Borger died Monday August 12th in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Minton Memorial chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe of Bible Baptist church officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Myrtle E. Lund Ramstad, 97, of Guymon passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Heritage Community Nursing Home in Guymon.
Senator Kel Seliger touched on several topics at the Borger Town Hall meeting.
On a routine traffic stop Travis Wayne Gossett, from Mullin, Texas, was pulled over. He as later arrested and taken to jail for violation of probation.
We will have information on this arrest after we get information from the BPD.
Loretta May Whaley, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Friday, August 9, 2013.
Dana Rochelle Poe Thompson, age 46, born June 26, 1967 to Sharron and Franklin Poe, passed away August 2, 2013 in Denton, Texas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Billy Thompson; her children, Candace R. Graves, Monica L. Whatley, and Breanna J. Thompson. Granddaughter, Kylee R. Graves, her âDoodlebugâ; Parents, Franklin M. and Sharron L. Poe. Siblings, James M. Poe and Alcia L. Gaines and 13 neices and nephews.
