With election time coming in May, local entities are making preparations to get ready. The City of Borger is among those making preparations.
Mr. Charlie (Nick) Nickerson, 93, of Canyon, passed away, Friday, February 1, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the First Assembly of God in Borger, TX with Pastor Calvin Newton and Pastor David Morgan officiating. Burial to follow at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery in Borger, TX. With Military Honors.
Mr. Nickerson will lie in state at Brown Chapel of the Fountains in Borger on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 12:00PM~8:00PM, and Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 8:00AM~8:00PM.
Anita Gail Dickson, 63, of Borger, went to be with her Lord Feb. 1, 2013, in Borger.
Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Borger with Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Roy Allen Newman Jr., 75, of Borger died Feb. 1, 2013, in Borger.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Terry Stegall of Dalhart officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Jerry Dan Grange passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at Medical City Dallas, Texas at the age of 63.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 5, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Borger, Texas, with David Moore of Shamrock officiating. Burial will be at White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to7:00 p.m. at Minton Chatwell.
Nicholas Richard Botch, 43, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
Memorial services will be held 10 am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Borger Word of Life Church, 101 Caprock in Borger (former Buena Vista Community Center) with Rev. David Miller officiating.
Both Frank Phillips College basketball teams fell to Howard College Thursday night in conference matchups. The Lady Plainsmen lost in a lopsided game, 73-43, and the Plainsmen lost 94-69. The Hutchinson County Historical Museum will celebrate â€śThe boom, the bust and ten years of dustâ€ť with a look back at the first twenty years of Borger. â€¨Â
On March 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. the museum is presenting a lecture program given by Krissy Scotten, NOAA Warning Coordination meteorologist, who will share current and projected environmental changes and current dust bowl conditions.â€¨Â
