UPDATE: Major crash injures several; at least one dead

Several people were injured Wednesday night in two separate automobile accidents on State Highway 136 between Fritch and Borger.

According to the DPS, at around 6:00 p.m. a Ford Ranger pickup with two occupants heading East on 136 attempted to make a left hand turn into a private driveway, crossing the oncoming lane. The truck was then struck by a second Chevrolet pickup moving westbound with five occupants.

Dustin John West, 26, passed from this
life December 13, 2013 in Stinnett, Tx. A memorial
service will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, December 20,
at Bible Baptist Church.
He was born to Bobby Jack West and Shannon
Hargues on March 30, 1987.
As a child Dustin played little league sports and
made All-Stars each year he played football. He grew
up quick and missed out on a lot of normal teenage
life. He was human and, like most of us, was no saint.
The path he chose led to a rough life but through the
trials he found God and had a deep faith and love for
Jesus Christ.

Florene Ethel Vann

Florene Ethel Vann, 92, passed
away Friday, December 13, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30
am Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the
Minton Memorial Chapel under the direction
of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of
Borger.
Florene was born February 23, 1921 in
Bristow, Oklahoma to Joseph and Loudean
Eldredge. She was a long time resident of
Hutchinson County living in Stinnett, Borger,
Spring Creek and Fritch. Florene had been a Baptist for many years. Florene was
a member of the Red Hat Society and Tops Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother,

Lloyd Lavon West,

Lloyd Lavon West, 82, of Borger,
passed away Saturday December 14, 2013.
Loyd West was born October 11, 1931 in
Holdenville, Oklahoma to Lloyd Fulton West
and Iren Flyn.
He married Etta Mae Smith December 15,
1951 in Borger, TX.
Mr. West is preceded in death by his
wife Etta Mae; a daughter, Linda; Steve; three
brothers Ted, Homer and Doyle West; and one
sister, Verna Knott.
Survivors include one son, Mark West of
Borger TX; three grandchildren: Steven West,
Michelle West and Sabrina Davis and two Great-grandchildren.
