Carlotta Walls Lanier appears at FPC

Carlotta Walls LaNier, one of nine African-American students to enroll in Little Rock Arkansas’ Central High School in 1957 was at Frank Phillips College last night to sign books for students.
Frank Phillips students are reading LaNier’s book A Mighty Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School.

Esther Leila Brooks

Esther Leila Brooks went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. Esther was born on January 29, 1926 in New Berlin, New York to Harrison J. and Leila M. Burdick Camp. In July of 1957, she married Thomas T. Brooks of Borger, Texas. Once married, they lived in Borger where Esther taught elementary school at Crockett Elementary and Borger Middle School, retiring in 1991. Tom and Esther were long-time members of First Baptist Church of Borger where she faithfully served as church organist for 32 years.

The Frank Phillips Lady Plainsmen softball team lost both of their games against Western Texas...
The Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles split their double header with Littlefield, and crushed Dumas 20-9....
