Brian Gregory Hanrahan, 59, of Borger, passed away suddenly at hospital in Amarillo Thursday, January 10, 2013 after a brief illness.
Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Helen Bybee Stanford, 66, of Amarillo died Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Ken Haney, chaplain of Interim Hospice officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.
Ms. Stanford was born on March 23, 1946 in Borger, to Joseph and Bonita Bybee. She worked as a beautician at Hair Classic in Borger and also taught cosmetology at Frank Phillps Community College in Borger. She moved to Amarillo in 1991.
Ivan Dean Gilbert passed away Friday January 11, 2013 in Graham, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 14, 1923 in Dombey, Oklahoma and moved to Graham in 2006 from Borger, Texas. Mr. Gilbert worked for many years in plumbing, heating and air conditioning.
It's always nice to go into rival Pampa's gym and win. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, that would not happen in the district matchup on Friday night.
The ladies were up first in what turned out to be a close game.
Pampa took a quick 5-0 lead on the Lady Bulldogs. Wood had some solid rebounds under the basket for Borger and also two quick jumpers for their first scores. Loftis has a shot blocked, but Wood is there to put it in for two. Francis hits a three to tie the game up at 11. Pampa scores six straight to end the quarter.
As the Hutchinson County Republican Women prepare to install officers for another year, they will also be welcoming a special speaker at their upcoming meeting.
Brigadier General L. Dale Hoover, Jr. will be the featured speaker at the HCRW Republican Rally and Installation of Officers, set for Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Dakeâ€™s Restaurant, located at 718 North Main in Borger.
A Meet and Greet will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.
Chance Welch will continue to remain at the helm of the Borger Independent School District for the foreseeable future.
At its regular meeting Thursday evening, the Borger ISD board of trustees offered Welch a five-year contract that will run from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2018. The decision was made following an executive session.
Welch said he values the opportunity to continue his service to Borger ISD.
