On Wednesday December 19th, 2012 the Borger Police Department investigated a reported Kidnapping of an adult victim. The alleged victim came to the Borger Police Department to report that they had been held against their will by Mark Jackson, later identified fully as Mark Alan Jackson, 44 years of age, of Borger. The incident was reported to have taken place at 400 South Hedgecoke Street, where Jackson had been currently staying. The victim and Jackson knew each other, therefore this was not a â€śStranger Abductionâ€ť.
New Yearâ€™s resolutions are one tradition that keeps coming every year, even if they are not fulfilled. New Yearâ€™s Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year.

The City of Borger and Coffee Memorial Blood Center will host a blood drive on Jan. 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 111 E. Coolidge in the Union Hall.
Every eligible donor who presents to donate will receive a Coffee Memorial t-shirt.
A photo ID or donor card is required to donate, and donors must be at least 17 years of age to be eligible to give blood.
Delivery of the Borger News-Herald will be delayed this weekend due to a power outage. The press has no electricity. An electrician has been called in. As soon as it's back up, the newspaper will be run.

Charles Leon Jett passed away Dec. 18, in Rockport, Texas, at the age of 78. He was born on Jan. 8, 1934, to Joe P. and Nettie Jett in Chilicothe, Texas.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Nettie Jett, brother Bill Jett, and brother Richard Jett.
Bonita Sue â€śGiGiâ€ť Sargent, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Borger.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Bonita was born on Oct. 22, 1947, to William and Rachel Francis in Pontiac, Mich. She is a member of Bible Baptist Church. She loved to bake, watch Court TV, flower beds, and her grandchildren. She loved her Makayla Bug.
During the holiday season, DPS and local law enforcement want to make sure the roads are safe by increasing patrols from December 21 through January 1, which includes both the Christmas and New Year holidays.
DPS troopers and Borger PD will focus mostly on DWI patrols in areas where alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. The enhanced patrols that target intoxicated drivers are funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
