BRYAN, Texas (AP) â€” Tenaha quarterback Reginald Davis and Mason defensive back Chance Stockbridge who led their teams to state championships head up the 61st Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Associationâ€™s Class 1A All-State Football Team.
Davis was the Offensive Player of the Year. The 185-pound senior who has pledged to Texas Tech passed for 2,015 yards on 101 of 168 with 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also carried the ball 172 times for 1,915 yards with 36 TDs in leading the unbeaten Tigers to the Division 2 title.
On Monday afternoon, the Frank Phillips College Board of Regents unanimously approved the accepting of grants from the Brumley Foundation and LINN Energy totaling $85,000.
From the Brumley Foundation, FPC received a grant in the amount of $45,000, with the funds designated to be used towards scholarships for low-income students who reside in the upper 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle.
LINN Energy provided the college with a grant in the amount of $35,000 to be used for equipment for the Pump and Engine (P&E) and Instrumentation and Electrical Technology (I&E) programs.

On Tuesday evening, the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles started the second half of District 1-2A play by easily beating the Childress Lady Bobcats 44-23 in Childress.
Christa White had the hot hand for the Lady Eagles by scoring 16 points, along with three steals, three rebounds, and two assists.
Jacy Judd had nine points and five assists, while Summer Tubbs had a good defensive game by coming up with seven rebounds, three steals and two block shots.
On Monday, Borger High School senior Ty Brown verbally committed to play collegiate football for the Henderson State University Reddies in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Brown will make the second Borger Bulldog to commit to the university this week, after teammate Miles McKinney committed to Henderson State on Sunday.
In 2011, Brown established himself as one of the best running backs in West Texas by rushing for over 1200 yards with 15 touchdowns and earn District 1-3A Offensive MVP honors, despite missing over three games due to a leg injury.
On Tuesday evening, the Amarillo High Lady Sandies defeated the Borger Lady Bulldogs 1-0 in a game that would be called at the 25th minute in the second half due to lightning.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action in Amarillo on Monday, January 30th in their district opener against Amarillo Palo Duro.
On Tuesday evening, the Borger Bulldogs dropped to 1-2 in District 1-3A play by losing to the Dalhart Golden Wolves 58-32 at Tex Hanna Gym.
The Bulldogs struggled to take care of the ball leading to the team committing 26 turnovers. The Wolves took advantage of those Borger miscues by scoring 16 points directly off turnovers, including eight points in the third period, to help Dalhart build a 13 point lead going into the fourth period.
The Bulldogs got off to a good start in the game taking an early 4-0 lead off of baskets by Tyrell Haynes and Jamon Hearon.
On Tuesday evening, the Dalhart Lady Wolves used a fast start to get the 68-38 over the Borger Lady Bulldogs in District 1-3A action at Tex Hanna Gym.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled offensively in the first period by going 1/10 from the floor and not getting on the scoreboard until Vanessa Jones hit two free throws at the 2:45 mark.
Unfortunately the same couldnâ€™t be said for Dalhart, as the the Lady Wolves used fast break opportunities and two three pointers to build a 5-21 lead by the end of the first period.
AMARILLO â€“ Nell Robison Riggins, 94, died Jan. 23, 2012, in Amarillo, TX.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. W. Douglas Mills officiating.
Burial will be at Llano Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.
Nell was born on October 11, 1917 and went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2012. Nell graduated from Borger High School in 1935 and married her high school sweetheart Norman Robison.
They went on to have 5 children and lived in Borger and Stinnett, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday January 26, 2012 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain John Elser of Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center officiating, under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
J was born December 13, 1923 in Gillam, Louisiana to DeWitt and Myrtle Lea French. J served his country in WWII with the US Army as a medic. During his service, most of his time was spent in Europe.
