Hugh L. Jackson Jr., died Sept. 25, 2012, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Westman, pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Hugh was born March 19, 1924, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Esther and Hugh Jackson.
The Lady Dawgs played brilliantly in their win over district opponent Dalhart on Tuesday night in Borger. This was the district opener for both teams. The Lady Dawgs won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.

The Southmen Quartet, a Southern gospel group, will perform at Celebration Family Church, 811 E. Broadway in Fritch, tonight (Sept. 25) at 7 p.m.
A fatal wreck occurred Monday morning, leaving two men dead and another injured.
According to Department of Public Safety Trooper Gabriel Medrano, the wreck was nine miles north of Panhandle on Texas Highway 207.
Shortly before 6 a.m., Marijo Sistov, 25, of Amarillo, was driving north in a 2007 Ford F-150 and Dale Alan Milner, 61, of Borger, was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma going south, according to officials. The F-150 crossed over the center stripe, hitting the Tacoma head-on.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the wreck scene shortly before 8 a.m. Monday.
Aidenâ€™s Closet at Golden Plains Community Hospital offers many things to new parents who need something for their infant while staying at GPCH.
Aidenâ€™s Closet is one of the many programs supported by Borgerâ€™s non-profit organizations.
Back in February, Borger Elks Lodge #1581 presented a check for $1,000 to Aidenâ€™s Closet.
This 501 C 3 non-profit organization is also a part of the Jerry C. Waggoner Medical Foundation.
Aidenâ€™s Closet is located in the Womenâ€™s Center at Golden Plains Community Hospital.
It is time again to bash that trash!
The City of Borgerâ€™s Fall Trash Bash is set for the week of Oct. 1-6, 2012, and the city needs the help of citizens to clean up the community.
Once again, the city is sponsoring the free week for county residents to bring their trash to the transfer station. Tire disposal for residential customers will not have a limit during this week.
Kathie Harber of the City of Borger said that Beverly Benton and Crystal Irvin of the Chamber of Commerce are helping again this year and have several ads running to help get the word out to the public.
Randale Cowan, 91, of Fritch, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 in the "Garden Of Devotion" at Westlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Cowan will be at the Borger location for viewing.
Mrs. Eva â€śPauletteâ€ť Jones, 62, ofÂ Borger, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2012 in Katy, TX.â€¨â€¨Paulette was born June 17, 1950, in Dumas, TX, to Paul and Tressie Justice. She moved to Borger with her family at a young age. At the age of 16 she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She graduated Borger High School in 1968.â€¨â€¨While working at the A&W Drive Inn, Paulette met the love of her life Howard Lee Jones. They were married April 4, 1969. She spent the last 43 years being a devoted Wife, Mother and Gammy.
Emma Wood was crowned Borger's 2012 Homecoming queen at halftime of the Borger football game on Friday night. Congrats, Emma!
Friday night was homecoming for the Borger Bulldogs, and they put on quite a show for the packed stadium against the visiting Dumas Demons. They took the game to overtime, but eventually fell by 7 in a heartbreaker of a loss.
