A Borger ISD board member has earned the designation of Master Trustee.
Todd Harris, who currently serves as vice-president of the BISD Board of Trustees, earned this designation upon completion of Leadership TASB, a program sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
During the fifth session, which took place June 14-16, school board members participating in the 2011-12 Leadership TASB made presentations of their teamsâ findings following year-long research.

Borger resident Kenneth Herin, 73, was found deceased Sunday after a small fire inside a one-bedroom apartment on Harvey Street.
On Sunday, the Borger Fire Department was dispatched at 1:17 p.m. to the 400 block of Harvey.
Upon arrival, the fire was already extinguished.
According to Borger Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell, the State Fire Marshal has been assisting with the investigation. The autopsy and evidence shows the cause of death was the result of Herin smoking while on oxygen. Herin was pronounced dead on July 1, 2012, by the Justice of the Peace.

A Borger Benniganâs employeeâs life has been changed by a simple Facebook post.
On March 28, Hannah Hobbs, a waitress at a Benniganâs restaurant in Borger, posted a photo of a glass of beer, with a handwritten note from the customer that read âIn memory of Lt. j.g. Francis Toner, USN. Killed in action 27 March 2009, Balkh Province, Afghanistan. âNon sibi said patriaeâ NOT FORGOTTEN!â
Not only did this photo get over 1,071,335 âlikesâ and shared more than 96,047 times on Facebook, she was sent to New York City to appear on CNN live somewhere between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday.
