Bob Stombaugh

Bob Stombaugh, 75, of Borger, died Monday, July 9, 2012 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Minton Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the “Garden Of Love” at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Bob Stombaugh was born August, 7, 1936 in Goodland, Indiana to Kenneth and Martha Stombaugh.
He was a security guard for Guardsmark, and served his country in the United States Army. Bob married Patsy Wynn December 29, 1982 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Connie White Cole

Connie White Cole, 82, of Borger, passed away, Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Graham, TX.
Connie Lois (Murphy) White Cole was born January 21, 1930 in Tipton, OK to Newt and Juanita (Powell) Murphy. Mrs. Cole retired from the Borger News Herald as office manager.
Mrs. Cole is preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert V. White; her second husband, Sam Cole; and her twin brother, John Louis Murphy.

Phillips 66 seeing success in Borger

Phillips 66 is seeing success in the Borger area.
Chris Coon, who is Refinery Manager for Phillips 66, was the featured speaker at the Borger Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon.
On May 1, what was ConocoPhillips became two companies, with the upstream portion maintaining the Conoco name and the downstream portion, which is refining, marketing, and transportation, became Phillips 66.

Bring your bike and make a cure for MS possible

Bike MS, where pedaling for a cure is made possible, is only two weekends away.
Texas Panhandle residents, including some Borger teams, are preparing for the 25th Anniversary Bike MS: The Wild West Ride 2012.
On July 28 and 29, cyclists will get their pedals running for the annual two-day fundraising ride.

Borger ISD board to meet Thursday

July 11, 2012

The Borger ISD board of trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, in the board conference room of the BISD Administration Building, 200 East Ninth.
Under the Superintendent’s Report, discussion will be held on Leadership TASB, dates to review, the refined ADA, the 2012-13 mission and goals for BISD, and budget review/budget meetings.
District reports will be given, which include the annual facility report and Preliminary F.I.R.S.T.
