On Friday morning, Borger ISD Athletic Director Leslie Young announced the hiring of four new coaches who will fill the head coaching positions in four different sports at Borger High School for the 2012-13 school year. The new head coaches include Ron Francis in girlsâ€™ basketball, Mike Hill in volleyball, Kevin Hall in boysâ€™ track, and Amy Hall in girlsâ€™ track. The four coaches were approved for hiring during the Borger ISD School Board meeting on Thursday, June 14th.
First Southern Baptist and Coffee Memorial Blood Center will join together and help local citizens save lives.
The drive will be held June 18, 2012 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in First Southern Baptist Fellowship Hall, 520 Overland Trail. Every eligible donor who is present to give blood will receive their choice of a free CMBC beach towel, Lifesaver t-shirt or umbrella! (while supplies last).

Bill Jett, age 80, peacefully passed away, Thursday, June 14, 2012 and went to be with his loving wife Barbara Ann Jett. He also joins his father and mother, Joe and Nettie Jett and his brother, Richard Jett.
Bill was born Wednesday, September 30, 1931 on a farm in Hardeman County, TX. He graduated in 1950 from Lockett High School in Vernon, TX. He joined the United States Air Force in December 1951 and honorably served as a radio operator at bases in Alaska and Washington State. He was discharged December 1955.
FRITCH - Donald F. â€śSailorâ€ť Depew Jr., 58, of Fritch, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
A celebration of life will be from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Harley Acres located on highway 136 between Fritch and Borger. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
The runoff election for local, state, and national offices is set to take place on July 31.
Hutchinson County residents will be voting for a new sheriff in this runoff election. Candidates are Don Johnson and Mickey Blackmon. Johnson received 1,104 votes in the primary election, equating to 40.77 percent of the vote.
Michael Lon â€śMickeyâ€ť Blackmon received 906 votes in the primary election, equating to 33.46 percent of the vote.
Republicans and Democrats will each be selecting a nominee for the U.S. Senate seat that will be filled in the upcoming general election.
The 55th annual Hutchinson County Sheriffâ€™s Posse Rodeo is tomorrow!
The rodeo will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Sheriffâ€™s Posse arena, which is located at the end of Bulldog Boulevard, past the stadium and softball fields. Admission is $5.
Hours for the rodeo will run from 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
Four Corriente All-Around Saddles and six All-Around Buckles will be awarded at the rodeo and each contestant will receive a participation award.
