West Texas High was in a must win situation Friday afternoon in Canyon.
Facing Lockney for game two of a best of three series, the Comanches played a much better game than the first one, but they fell a little short, losing 10-8 and bowing out of the baseball postseason.
Errors still plagued the Tribe as they were charged with seven. The team played on turf, which could have caused some of the problems.
Jess Shields pitched 3 and 1/2 innings and had 3 strike outs, walked 1, and allowed 8 runs, just one was earned.

LEVELLAND-On Friday evening, the Levelland Lobos scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull ahead for the 5-3 win over the Borger Bulldogs in the 3A Bi-District Playoff Round.
The win on Friday allowed the Lobos to win the Bi-District series two games to none, after defeating the Bulldogs 16-5 on Thursday evening in Borger.
After seeing game one slip away in the sixth inning on Thursday, the Bulldogs came out focused and put together a better performance on Friday.

The Spanish III Pre AP class of Elizabeth Forrest at Borger High School was busy Friday making preparations for Cinco de Mayo. Students in the class decorated piñatas, which will be donated to Paul Belton Elementary next week for their Cinco de Mayo fiestas. Students Vivi Hernandez and Kourtney Jones show off their colorful creations.
Irene Isabelle Flowers, 84, of Borger, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Erick, Okla., at the Erick Cemetery with Jake Minton of Borger officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Early voting in local elections will conclude this Tuesday, so local citizens need to get out and vote!
Voting for the Borger City Council race will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 7, and Tuesday, May 8, at City Hall in Borger.
Candidates for Borger City Council are William Adams and Brandy Callahan.

William “Willy” Adams is seeking election to Borger City Council, Place One.
Adams was born in Marion, Miss., and has been a resident of Texas for the past 62 years, with the exception of seven years in which he lived in Oklahoma and New Mexico.
His parents moved to West Texas when he was quite young and settled in Slaton, a small farming community southeast of Lubbock some 15 miles. It was there that Adams graduated from high school in 1957 and met and married his wife of 54 years, Pauline.
Richie Alan Eakins, 40, joined the angels in Heaven on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Eternal Light Church with Pastor Willy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the “Garden Of Hope” at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Richie always saw the beauty in people just as God sees the beauty in all of us. He went to Borger High School and worked at Spradling Drilling Company for many years until he became ill.
