Frank Phillips College Menâ€™s Head Basketball Coach Chris Hackett will be hosting a boyâ€™s basketball camp on Tuesday, May 29th through Friday, June 1st at the BCAC.
The camp is open to boys ages 7-17 and is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each day.
In the camp, Hackett and the FPC Coaching Staff will focus on fundamentals including shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, defense, and individual offense.
The camp will also feature 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 leagues, daily competitions, and camp prizes and certificates.
Sanford-Fritch High School has named its top two graduates for the Class of 2012.
Natasha Renee Tolley is the valedictorian of this yearâ€™s class, holding a 4.0 GPA, and Madison Allen is the salutatorian, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Tolley is graduating with 18 dual college credit hours from Frank Phillips College and Allen is graduating with 20 dual college credit hours from FPC.
The Johnson Park Youth Center is gearing up for the summer months.
The opening date for the summer at the JPYC is Saturday, May 26, 2012. Summer hours will be from 1-7 p.m. daily.
Annadon Keys, director of the center, said two U-V Systems have been added to the pump room for the pool. She said the systems are expensive but extremely important to the facility.
Many parents arenâ€™t aware how to install their car seats for their children properly.
An event is being planned in Borger to help them learn how to do just that.
A Car Seat Checkup, sponsored by Panhandle RAC Trauma Service Area A and Safe Kids Panhandle, will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Borger Fire Station, located at 200 North Cedar.
Parents with concerns about the installation of their car seats are encouraged to ask the following questions:
*Does your car seat move when you stop or turn?
*Does your car seat seem too small for your child?
