Learning how to shoot with the left hand, handling the ball with more confidence and learning how to work with others as part of a team are just a couple of the skills campers are learning this week at the Frank Phillips College Boys Basketball Camp at the BCAC.
The FPC Men’s Basketball program has passed on running a camp in recent years, due to low turnout and transition between coaches. So when FPC Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Hackett made plans to host a camp this year, there was some uncertainty on what kind of response there would be.

A Borger native and his wife are about to strike out on what many would consider the trip of a lifetime. However, for Dusty and Nikki Green, it will be just their latest “trip of a lifetime”.
Dusty, who is a Borger native, and Nikki, a native of Claude, are among five finalist teams that have been selected by Rand McNally and USA Today for the 2012 Best of the Road Rally, which is a cross-country multimedia adventure designed to highlight and call attention to some of the best small towns across the nation.
On Thursday, Frank Phillips College Plainsmen Head Basketball Coach Chris Hackett announced the signing of four players to his roster for the 2012-13 season.
Hackett will enter the fall with the luxury of having seven players returning from last year’s squad. Each of the seven contributed greatly to the team, but of the seven, Demetris LaFontant and Alex Zivkovic are the only ones returning with post experience in the paint.
Hopefully, the announced signings by Hackett will provide depth under the basket with the signing of 6-9 Juri Todorovic, 6-7 Ke’Andre Stanton, and 6-7 Reger Baker.
