On Friday afternoon, the Borger Bulldogs got their second 10-run rule win over the Dalhart Golden Wolves in District 1-3A play by a score of 13-3 at Huber Park.
The Wolves kept the game close through the top of the fourth inning, where the Bulldogs had only a 4-3 lead. But in their final three at bats of the game, the Bulldogs racked up ten runs to pull away for the win.
Senior Garth Payton got the start on the pitcherâ€™s mound for the Bulldogs and did a solid job going six 1/3 innings giving up three runs on four hits while striking out five Wolf batters.
Friday afternoon, the Borger Lady Bulldogs got their first District 1-3A win of the season by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the Dalhart Lady Wolves, 5-4, at Agnes Howe Park.
Both teams played a good game on the field. But a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning by Dalhart gave Borger the opportunity to tie the game and eventually get the comeback win.

Peacefully on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, Lucille A. LaPointe of International Falls passed away at the Falls Good Samaritan Center just short of her 92nd birthday.
Lucille was born in Holler, Minn., on Feb. 2, 1919, went to St. Thomas School and was proud to be one of the first graduating classes from the school.
She went on to business college to be a secretary. She worked at a few different positions in International Falls before she went to Phillips, Texas, where she was hired at the Phillips Petroleum Company.
Evelyn Hopper Dickerman, 92, previously of Borger, peacefully returned to our Father in heaven on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington. She lived in Borger for over 70 years before moving to Graham, Washington in 2009.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Minton Memorial Chapel with Bobby Bridges of Borger officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Ross Sherman Josephson, age 97, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehab Center in Pilot Point.
He was born Feb. 28, 1915, to Frank and Sella Josephson in Washburn, N.D. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a civil engineering degree. He was a maintenance supervisor for Phillips Petroleum for 38 years. He married Maxine Elizabeth Hill in Borger, Texas on April 15, 1945.
Next week is the time for citizens to bash their trash!
The City of Borger will be holding its upcoming trash bash April 9-14, 2012. It is sponsoring this free week for county residents to bring their trash to the transfer station.
Kathie Harber, who is with the City of Borger, said tire disposal will also be an available service for locals during Trash Bash Week.
â€śTire disposal for residential customers will not have a limit during this week,â€ť she said.
The Borger City Council has approved an alley paving project in the University Heights area.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, the council approved the establishment of an escrow account for the alley paving of Lots 1-18, Block 6, University Heights.
Kenneth Petr, Director of Planning and Zoning for the City of Borger, said Starla Buchanan has requested the establishment of this account for the property owners in this area for the project.
