The FPC Lady Plainsmen beat Central CC-Columbus by a score of 79-57 at the Southeast Community College Holiday Classic in Beatrice, NE. Natasha Thomas was the leading scorer with 30 points. Honesty Sullivan, of Canyon, scored 10 points and had 9 rebounds.
The FPC Plainsmen lost to Lamar 85-70 on Friday night. Ronald Scott led with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Greg Nelson had 15 points for FPC.
Paula Ann Howard Schaffer, 63, passed away on November 30, 2012 surrounded by family.
Private services will be held. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Paula was born February 28, 1949 in Borger, Tx. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Allen "Bud" Howard and mother, Luvinia "Gee" Howard.
Velma Attebery Simpkins, 81, of Borger, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Borger.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Bunavista Baptist Church with Conny Moore of Borger officiating, and Tommy Batson of Stinnett assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Abner â€śAbâ€ť McClellan, 74, of Borger, TX passed away Monday, November 26, 2012.
Ab was born Tuesday, June 14, 1938 in Panhandle, TX to Cleburn and Nola Mae (Wood) McClellan.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Herman McClellan and Junior McClellan and by his parents.
Survivors include a son, Jeff McClellan and wife Selena; grandsons, Jake and Taylor McClellan; brothers, Wade McClellan of El Paso, TX, Johnny McClellan of Fritch, TX, Milam McClellan of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Dorsey Eakin of Pampa, TX.
Larry Blackshere, 63, of Borger, TX went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
Larry Richard Blackshere was born May 31, 1949 in Oklahoma. Larry served his country as a member of the United States Marines. Larry worked for many years at Vernon & Sons Tire Company and Country Chevrolet.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include two aunts, Joyce and Vicky. He is also survived by his second family, Brandee and Bert Bowen and their children; the Ferguson and Ridlehuber families; and many, many friends who loved him very much.
The Tri-City Concert Association is the recipient of one of several grants being given by the Xcel Energy Foundation.
The amount of the grant being received by the association is $1,000, and will go toward the presentation of a concert by Robert Post, a comedian/actor/puppeteer/ventriloquist to approximately 500 students in third through fifth grades in the Borger Independent School District.
The concert, which is being sponsored by the association, has the goal of enhancing the students' appreciation of the visual/dramatic arts.
Two new faces have joined the Borger community, bringing with them smiles and service to anyone in need of short term rehabilitation, long term care, or just some good food to share!

Scott is heading the team at the newest rehabilitation facility presently being built on the corner of Roosevelt Street and College Avenue. Caprock Nursing and Rehab will proudly open its doors in February 2013.
Scott Franklin, the administrator who plans to open this state-of-the-art facility, was raised in central Texas, and lived in Amarillo for 15 years.
