On Wednesday December 19th, 2012 the Borger Police Department investigated a reported Kidnapping of an adult victim. The alleged victim came to the Borger Police Department to report that they had been held against their will by Mark Jackson, later identified fully as Mark Alan Jackson, 44 years of age, of Borger. The incident was reported to have taken place at 400 South Hedgecoke Street, where Jackson had been currently staying. The victim and Jackson knew each other, therefore this was not a “Stranger Abduction”.

New Year’s resolutions are one tradition that keeps coming every year, even if they are not fulfilled. New Year’s Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year.
It’s a time to reflect on the changes we want or need to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

Borger and Coffee Memorial Blood Center encourage citizens to come give the gift of life next month.
The City of Borger and Coffee Memorial Blood Center will host a blood drive on Jan. 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 111 E. Coolidge in the Union Hall.
Every eligible donor who presents to donate will receive a Coffee Memorial t-shirt.
A photo ID or donor card is required to donate, and donors must be at least 17 years of age to be eligible to give blood.
Delivery of the Borger News-Herald will be delayed this weekend due to a power outage. The press has no electricity. An electrician has been called in. As soon as it's back up, the newspaper will be run.
