Allen Gregg Hagburg, 83, died Sunday October 21, 2012 in Amarillo.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Borger.
WHEELER â€“ Pete â€śP.T.â€ť Cator, 52, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Amarillo, TX.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in the Arena of Life Cowboy Church in McLean with Ronnie Ferguson and Alan Morgan officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in Hansford Cemetery in Spearman. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean.
A Democratic legislative candidate up for election next month is stopping in Borger this weekend.
Abel Bosquez, the Democratic challenger to Walter â€śFourâ€ť Price for the 87th District Texas Legislative Representative seat, will be in Borger on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Lone Star Restaurant. He will be there from 5:30-8 p.m. to talk with area citizens.
Bosquez is called â€śthe working peopleâ€™s candidateâ€ť in the race against Price, the incumbent from Amarillo, who is an attorney specializing in business.
A local man was hit by a car while crossing the street Monday.
Gary Lynn Bumgarner, 67, of Borger was crossing Sixth Street from south to north near the Allsups Convenience Store at 8:19 a.m. yesterday morning, Lt. Anthony Griffin of the Borger Police Department said.
While Bumgarner was crossing, Jahzell Miranda Flores 26, who was driving a white Volkswagen, made a left turn from Florida onto Sixth and struck Bumgarner.
According to Lt. Griffin, he was then transported to the Golden Plains Community Hospital by ambulance with several injuries.
Alton W. Harvey, 83, of Borger, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at the Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Alton was born Oct. 18, 1929, in Elmira, N.Y., and was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Wanda June May 26, 1972, in Borger. Alton was a truck driver, and crossing guard at Gateway Elementary. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Hutchinson County E.O.C., and loved the Dallas Cowboys, bingo, and fishing.
With early voting underway as of today and the Nov. 6, 2012 general election drawing close, polling places have been set in Hutchinson County for Election Day.
On Election Day, set for Nov. 6, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The polling places are as follows:
*Precinct 11 - Faith Covenant Church, 1501 South Florida, Borger
*Precinct 14 - Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Boulevard, Borger
*Precinct 21 - Fritch School Administration Building, 540 Eagle Boulevard, Fritch
*Precinct 23 - St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 100 Amaryllis, Borger
The Borger News-Herald is seeking the help of its readers and the public in solving a newspaper rack theft.
Susan Spurlock-Rawlins, circulation manager for the BNH, said that sometime between 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, and 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, Laundry Solutions, located at Third and Harvey, was the scene of a robbery.
The Borger Police Department is currently working with the BNH and Laundry Solutions in locating a stolen BNH newspaper rack. The rack is valued at $575.

CLARENDON - Martha Jane Barker, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in Claude, TX.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in the Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon with Rev. Bill Hodges, Pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.
