A well-known country music artist is making his way to the Borger stage.
Collin Raye, known as a certified Nashville hit-maker and platinum recording artist, will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Borger High School Auditorium. The concert is being brought to Borger by the Tri-City Concert Association.
The Borger Bulldogs found the win column on Friday night against their favorite team to beat. For the last seven years, Borger has won the matchup against the beast in the east (as George Grover calls them).. the Pampa Harvesters. Friday was no different as Borger handed Pampa their first district loss and picked up their first win on the year. As it is every year, this game had everything and went down to the wire. Borger prevailed 21-14 and improved to 1-1 in district play.
FORMERLY OF BORGER, TX â€“ Paula S. (Records) Hagerty, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, in Orange County, Calif.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Ochiltree Cemetery with Rev. James Stephens of Borger officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Paula was born July 23, 1952, in Borger, TX, and lived in the area. She was a graduate of the Massachusetts University School of Nursing and was a nurse.
James H. Patterson, 83, of Borger died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Bunavista Baptist Church in Borger with Rev. Robert Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Boomtown Community Theatre presents its fall production, Romanian Uranium Mystery, directed by Tara Hopkins. This show is an audience participation dinner theatre. Audience members will have the chance to talk to cast members and ask questions to solve a murder. There will also be many clues throughout the show. The BCT will be serving beef sirloin tips with mexican rice and sides plus dessert during the show.
Today Golden Plains Community Hospital celebrates a year in their new facility.
According to GPCH CEO Dennis Jack, â€śWe thought about making a big splash of it and having a public meeting, but honestly we are so busy now we can't take people away. It's working like we thought it would. 'Build it and they will come,' they come out in groves. and we don't want to take away any of the focus away from the patients.â€ť

Eight senior Lady Bulldog volleyball players stepped out onto their home court for the last time on Tuesday night to a gym packed with fans in red. They played in four thrilling sets, but fell to River Road 22-25, 28-26, 23-25, and 20-25 to finish their season.

According to Annadon Keys, Johnson Park Youth Center Manager, this yearâ€™s Insane Asylum is completely different than last yearâ€™s.
â€śThose who attended last year are in for a surprise. It has everyoneâ€™s worst fears,â€ť she said.
This yearâ€™s Insane Asylum will move a bit faster, because there will not be a guide, but the Insane Asylum will use the entire facility.
Keith Lewis Cunningham, 72, died Sunday October 21, 2012 at his home in Fritch. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Celebration Family Church, with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Keith was a Butcher at B and R Thriftway for many years. He married Marlene October 17, 1972 in Clayton, NM. He loved his family and to visit with people. He also served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
