Ada V. Jackson, 93, of Borger, passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012.
Ada Victoria (Prickett) Jackson was born Monday, November 11, 1918 in New Douglas, IL to William and Rose Geneva (O’Hara) Prickett. She married Leon Harris Jackson on July 6, 1938 in New Douglas.
Mrs. Jackson was Past Worthy Matron Of Borger Chapter #811 and was Deputy Grand Matron District 2, Section 1 Grand Chapter Of Texas, Order of The Eastern Star.
Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Harris Jackson; and her son, Wayne Harris Jackson.

Winnie Alice Sibley was born June 6, 1915 in Grand, Oklahoma in northern Roger Mills County to Clarence and Mary Elizabeth (Younger) Brown. She passed away October 9, 2012 at Pampa, Texas at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 3 days.

The Taste spices up the evening

Diners from around the area enjoyed a variety of foods on Tuesday night at the Borger News-Herald’s Taste of Hutchinson County held at the Aluminum Dome.
Over 250 people filled the Dome while eighteen restaurants served up some of the tastiest grub this side of Dallas.

Drag Main for a Cause

Ever since Borgans dragged Main Street on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 it is becoming a monthly occurrence every second Saturday of the month. Only now it is for a good cause. Citizens of the county will hop in their cars and cruise Main or park and enjoy some fall festivities.
