Area emergency officials responded to a wreck Thursday morning on Highway 136.
A husband and wife, who were not identified, rolled into a ravine off the highway. Gabriel Medrano of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the husband had complained of stomach pains.
He said that a witness stated the southbound vehicle curved off the road to the right, causing it to go through a barbed wire fence and strike an electrical pole on the driver's side. This caused the vehicle to roll several times, landing into a ravine.

The Gruver Greyhounds came away from Stinnett with a win Tuesday night in a tight District contest 37-30. The game was fast paced and mostly a defensive battle. Free throws sank the Tribe in the end, with Gruver making thirteen trips to the free throw line in the second half compared to three for West Texas. The Hounds were 14/23 at the line and WT was 2/4 in the third and fourth quarters. That combined with a three point offensive production in the second quarter was the ballgame.
The West Texas Lady Comanches are still looking for a District win on the hardwood. They started the second half of loop action Tuesday night with a loss to the Gruver Lady Hounds 41-15. WT managed to hang with the Lady Hounds in the first period, trailing by just one point 7-6.
The second quarter got quickly out of hand as Gruver poured in eighteen points while the Lady Comanches two. Gruver was comfortably on top of West Texas at the half 25-8.
