1941 – 2011
Joyce Ann Musgraves Park, 1941 to 2011, died Wednesday in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
After taking the trip north to take on Otero Junior College Lady Rattlers in a two game series on Wednesday, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen and the Rattlers faced off once again on Thursday in a two-game series here in Borger.
On Wednesday, the two teams would split the series and on Thursday the teams saw the same result as the Lady Plainsmen won game one, 6-5 while Otero came out on top in game two, 6-5.
Lady Plainsmen sophomore pitcher Kiana Levy did a good job on the mound in game one, giving up just five runs on seven hits while striking out six Lady Rattler batters.
After a rough weekend in Midland, the Borger Bulldogs were ready to get back into the win column when they took on the Amarillo River Road Wildcats in a doubleheader at Huber Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs didn’t put together a pretty performance, which included committing a combined 12 errors in the two games. However, the home team did enough to pull out a pair of 11-10 wins to improve to 8-8-1 on the season.

The Wildcats got off to a good start in game one by using a two RBI single in the top of the first inning to take an early 0-2 lead.
March 17th
(Boys) Randall 3 Borger 1
Going into last night the Borger Bulldogs were hoping to leave Kimbrough Memorial Stadium with a win or a tie in order to take a one point or half a point lead over Dumas and Canyon for the fourth playoff spot in District 5-4A.
Unfortunately, the Randall Raiders ruined those plans by getting the 3-1 win over the Bulldogs to send their record to 3-7-1 in district play, 6-11-1 overall, while keeping their district point total at 3.5.
The Raiders struck early when Hutton Sharp scored the first goal in the game in the 10th minute to take a 0-1 lead.
March 15th
For the past two weeks a lot has been said about the battle between the Borger Bulldogs and Canyon Eagles for the fourth and final playoff spot from District 5-4A.
However over the past week, the Dumas Demons have decided to make the race a three team battle, thanks to defeating Canyon on Saturday, leading to a three-way tie for the fourth spot with each team currently holding 3.5 points in the district standings.
March 14th
SUNDOWN-On Friday, three Borger High School Powerlifters earned spots in the state powerlifting meet by finishing in the top two in their weight class at the Boys Region I Division II meet in Sundown.
Seniors Dallas Green and Dylan Winkle and junior Miles McKinney earned trips to state by each finishing the meet with second place individual finishes while the Borger High Powerlifting Team finished in third place overall in the team standings.

On Saturday the West Texas High Comanches defeated Dalhart and Hooker to finish the West Texas Baseball Tournament in Stinnett undefeated.
Against Dalhart, the Comanches came away with a 4-1 win behind a solid pitching performance by senior Logan Hoff, who pitched the whole game, collecting six strikeouts.
The Comanches wrapped up tournament play with a 13-6 win over Hooker, Okla.
Ty Lay led the team bringing in three RBIs as well as pitching four innings, racking up seven strikeouts to get the win.
