On Thursday, Jenneffer Kohler turned in her resignation as Head Coach of the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen softball program.
Kohler spent three years as the head coach that included posting a 10-35 record in 2011 and leading the Lady Plainsmen to their first ever appearance in the Region V Tournament.
According to Frank Phillips College Athletic Coordinator April Plagge, assistant coach Lucas Grider has been named as the new coach of the FPC Softball program.

 Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Riverview Baptist Church with Preacher Jimmy Gillmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park.   Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Joe Pat Hart was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Doole, TX, to Pat and Bertha Hart. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX at the age of 87 years.
He served with the Army Air Force during WWII. Joe married Lois Vrubel Aug. 20, 1974, in Clovis, N.M. He worked as a farmer before being hired by the Texas Employment Commission where he worked for 27 years until his retirement in 1980.
At 11:48 p.m. on Friday August 5, 2011, a verbal altercation in a local bar occurred between two men and continued over into an Allsup’s parking lot in Borger.
William Roland Mayberry, 54 of Lewisville, Texas, allegedly hit the second man with his vehicle in the Allsup’s parking lot during the argument. The Borger Police Department tried to conduct a traffic stop on Mayberry. Refusing to stop, he led the PD into a pursuit on Highway FM 1551.
Howdy Neighbor Day in Fritch is just a little over a month away.
The annual celebration will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Fritch City Park.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. proceeding from the post office area to the City Park. Floats and decorated vehicles will be judged again this year for first, second, and third place prizes.
The theme is, “Come as you are,” with a little patriotic flavor added.
