After Tuesday afternoon, players and fans of the Borger Lady Bulldog and Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagle softball teams probably would call it a toss up between which is worse: playing in the freezing cold or playing in 50 mph winds that constantly is throwing layers of infield dirt onto anyone and anything in its path.
That was the condition the two teams battled through yesterday afternoon in their non-district game where the Lady Bulldogs came away with the 7-0 win in Fritch.
Last night HutchCares held its appreciation banquet for all its volunteers.
The banquet was held at Fairlanes Baptist Church, with a meal, live entertainment, and a silent auction as part of the festivities.
HutchCares is a local organization that helps senior citizens 65 years of age and over stay in their home and live safely and independently for as long as possible. Hutch Cares believes in helping people stay out of expensive facilities and allowing older people to stay at home and have the right to receive appropriate assistance as needed from their family and neighbors.
Amarillo, TX â The Amarillo Venom is excited to introduce a new member to their team, but are asking for help in deciding a name.
The Venom will now have a mascot at every home game cheering on the team and they are asking their fans for help deciding a name for the giant-green snake.
âWe are excited about the new mascot addition to our team,â said Joe Morgado, the Venom General Manager. âWe had a couple of names picked out, but decided to let the fans name their new mascot instead.â
Tuesday the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen travelled to Altus, Okla. where they fell to Western Oklahoma State College 9-0 and 4-0.
The Lady Plainsmen will be in action in Borger this weekend hosting Midland College in a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m. followed by a doubleheader with Odessa College on Saturday afternoon also starting at 1:00 p.m.
The update of the Borger News-Herald web site will be temporarily delayed due to extreme technical issues. We would appreciate the courtesy and patience of the public as we try to get these issues resolved as soon as possible.
