Amarillo â€“ Funeral services for Barbara Jane Harris, 87, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Chaplain Jeff Messer, BSA Hospice, will officiate. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Harris died Sunday in Amarillo.
As Borger High School prepares to celebrate its Homecoming festivities for 2011, one of the highlights of this yearâ€™s activities will be a homecoming parade next Thursday.
The parade route will line up at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Cornerstone Christian Church, 10th and Main, and proceed south on Main Street, west on Third Street, and south on McGee towards BHS. It is set to begin at around 6 or 6:30 p.m. that evening.
The parade will end in the Borger High School parking lot, and the pep rally will be held at Tex Hanna Gym shortly after the conclusion of the parade.
Curves of Borger is doing its part to promote breast cancer awareness in fun and unique ways.
For the month of October, Curves is waiving the joining fee for new members and is encouraging the public to participate in a fun and unique contest.
The clubâ€™s window currently has a truly unique display. It is pink, with a giant bra made by Curves member Linda Nicholas. In a spirit of fun and also to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness month, Curves is having a bra decorating contest for its members.
