Locks of love

Ashley Kay Henderson, 12 of Borger, has been growing her hair out for her entire 12 years of life. She has never had an “official” haircut, only trims every few months. That all changed on Wednesday, when Ashley and her grandmother walked into Lookin’ Ahead Salon on Florida Street. Donna Easley at Lookin’ Ahead cut Ashley’s hair, which she will donate to Locks of Love.
Ashley is the daughter of Eric and Dannett Henderson of Borger.
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. In order to donate hair to Locls of Love, Ashley hair had to be at least 10 inches long, tip to tip, and pulled into a ponytail.
